Mummification

Walt: Write an information report.

Ancient Egyptians mummified their dead. They would first take out all of the persons insides ( but not the heart.) Then they would salt the body first then dry the body for 40-50 days. When that is finished they stuffed cloth into the body so the body can keep its shape. After that the body is oiled and it gets wrapped in lots of bandages tightly. The Egyptians believed that if the body was wrapped tightly it would stop the body from rotting. When the embalmers embalm a body a priest would always be there to supervise and to send the body's spirit into the next world. Another thing that a priest would do is to use special instruments to touch the different body parts. Some mummies were placed in wooden boxes as their coffins. Some wooden boxes were beautifully decorated. But pharaohs were put into stone coffins.
