Hieroglyphics

1. The word “hieroglyphic” is Greek for Sacred carving.
2. Hieroglyphics were symbols that represented everyday objects.
3. Number hieroglyphics were also developed to calculate mathematical problems.
4. Egyptians always wrote from top to bottom when they did their hieroglyphics.
5 Hieroglyphics were written on tomb walls.

Scribes

1. The scribe’s main tool was called a kalamos.
2. The scribe’s job was more similar to painting and drawing.
3. Scribe’s used a variety of coloured inks made from plants and minerals.

Papyrus
1.  It was hardly a coincidence that the first example of paper called papyrus.
2. Papyrus is a type of reed.

Nice piece of writing Devonn. I never knew that the papyrus was made out of a type of reed. Do you have any other information about papyrus for me to read?
