Walt: write a narrative
On Monday Tainah was getting ready to perform her amazing race in the kayak on the slow streaming lake. The competitors were waiting in the long line ready to race. They waited and waited and it was time to race their hearts out. They waited until they said . . . . . . . GO !
Tainah was paddling like she was in a turtle race then she started to pick up the pace and was getting faster and faster and then she started to increase speed. She was paddling like Mahe Drysdale and she was coming first then . . . . . . She plummeted into the water and seemed like she was drowning. Later, she said that her heart was beating 100 miles per minute because she was very frightened.
She got back onto her kayak quickly. Desperately because she wanted to win. She started to paddle again. She was coming second and wasn't far away from her opponent. She paddled and paddled until she was neck and neck with her opponent. It felt like the America’s Cup final but the difference was that they were in kayaks.
Then Tainah was coming first then her opponent then Tainah than her opponent. Then Tainah paddle fast and won the race. All of the Glen Innes supporters were all jumping up and and down and were shouting out their chants. She was so delighted that she won. She was so happy that she did the haka to celebrate.
The theme of this story is to don’t give up but try your best.
