Netbook Reflection 2012

Over the last two terms I have enjoyed using the netbook because I've learned heaps of new skills and have improved in maths, reading and writing. The netbook has taught me how to learn, create and share by making movies, presentations and blog posts. That's why I love my netbook.

The positive things when I use the netbook is that I can practice my reading and maths on XI teach. I can read other students blogs and leave them a comment. But I think it is cool you can fix up mistakes and it is easier for me to understand.

The negative things when I use the netbook is that I can get distracted by getting pop ups advertisements and other stuff that make me go off task when I am doing my work online. Sometimes I want to be on the netbook 24/7 an get a little anti-social. But I am not addicted to my netbook because I have a computer at home.

Next year learning would be different because I am a year 8 next year and I would like to make my own e-book website for young children.

Learn,Create,Share

Walt: Learn,Create,Share

In room 11 the students  had to make an ebook to share with children who are 5 to 6 years. In the past few days room 11 has made and has finished their ebooks. Some students posted them on their blogs. Today room 11 shared their wonderful zoo ebooks with the kids from room 2. John and Mya had enjoyed the ebook that they had read. The kids from room 1 where too shy. So we had to read it to them. I enjoyed listening and reading to the kids from room 1 and room 2. I hope I can read and listen to them again. I can improve by using more easy words so they can understand it properly.

The movie is a fun and enjoyable film and is made by students from Room 11 and 12. So watch the film and comment on it please. Thank you for reading my blog and I really hope you watching our movie!

Jump Gone Wrong

Walt: write a story in sequence.

Jump gone wrong.
One dusky evening a bloke called James Mackentie attempted a daredevil jump called the space jump. Mission control were checking if everything was alright. Then it was time to jump.

“3, 2, 1, JUMP!”

In freefall mode I broke the sound record while I was flipping in mid air. I tried to stay stable then out came the parachute. There was a glitch, something went wrong then I saw my self falling to my death. While i’m falling i’m thinking about my wife and my kids. Then I see land. I sob because I might splat on the hard rocky pavement then I hear Mission control talking to me.

“James we know what the problem is There’s a hole in the parachute you have to patch it up!”

I grabbed the cellotape out of my backpack and patched the hole then my parachute was back to normal again. I landed in New Mexico and was amazed that I conquered the space jump. I landed on my two feet and cried with joy and then I went to kiss my wife. Mission control puffed with relief and then came out to shake hands and hug me then I get reported by reporters. They ask me Questions then I answer.

“I know that I am dangerous and I am risky and I want to break records. That’s why they call me James Mackentie the space jumper!”

The message of this story is to don’t be afraid.

Olympism

I learned about the Olympic values. My comic strip represented the value of friendship. What I want to know now is how friendship is shown around the world.

Striving to Succeed

Dear Mum and Dad

Thank you Mum and Dad for spending your money on my education. I really appreciate it.

The netbook will help me on my fractions and percentages and ordering fractions in maths.
I will improve in my comprehension and my skimming and scanning for reading.
It will make me improve heaps in my letter formation and my persuasive writing for writing.

This netbook that you put money forward for has changed my life so I will play a big role of being responsible and keep this netbook safe.

Your child
